PRF-Platelet-Rich Fibrin

PRF (platelet-rich fibrin) takes the same principle as PRP further, a slower spin produces a denser fibrin matrix that releases growth factors over a longer period.

What It Is

PRF is processed from your own blood, similarly to PRP, but with a gentler spin that preserves more of the fibrin matrix and a wider range of cells. The result is a thicker, gel-like concentrate that releases growth factors gradually, often producing a longer-lasting effect.

What We Use It For

How a Visit Unfolds

A small blood draw, processed in-office with a dedicated PRF protocol. Application varies by goal, injection, microneedling, or topical application following another treatment. Minimal downtime is typical.

Honest Expectations

PRF and PRP serve similar goals through slightly different mechanisms. We’ll recommend whichever is the better fit for your skin and goals at consultation, rather than defaulting to one over the other.

Common Questions

Is there downtime?

Minimal. Some redness and a sandpapery feel for one to two days is normal.

The number of treatments depends on the area being treated and your goals. Many patients benefit from 2–4 initial sessions, followed by maintenance treatments as recommended during your consultation.

Both treatments use your body’s own growth factors, but PRF is processed differently. Its gentler preparation creates a fibrin-rich concentrate that releases growth factors more gradually, which may provide a longer-lasting regenerative effect for certain patients and treatment areas.
PRF is commonly used for the under-eye area, overall facial skin quality and scalp support for hair thinning. It can also be combined with treatments such as microneedling or dermal fillers where appropriate.
Both treatments have similar goals but are suited to different patients and treatment plans. During your consultation, we’ll assess your concerns, discuss your goals and recommend the option we believe is most appropriate for you, rather than automatically recommending one over the other.
